CreationFest has announced that in 2015 there will be a Sir Peter Jackson award in the film section of the festival.
CreationFest, which is held in Rotorua, New Zealand each year, aims to get young people involved in the arts. This year’s festival concentrated on short films, live performances and wearable art. The film competition was co-ordinated by The Hobbit actor John Callen who gave the news about Peter Jackson saying, ‘When we approached him to judge this year’s entries he said he was too busy finishing the third Hobbit film, The Battle of the Five Armies.
‘However, we can announce that in 2015 there will be a Sir Peter Jackson Award for outstanding work in any one aspect of any of the final film entries, to be decided by Sir Peter himself,’ reports 3news.
This year the Short Film Supreme award went to Team Tap That for the film Wish You Were Hear.
