Thanks to New Zealand Post, you have the chance to join the company of Dwarves from The Hobbit. Well, actually, you can become one of the 13 dwarves. By stamps, that is. These special edition series of stamps are available in sheets of 20 and can be used as either a cool keepsake for your Tolkien collection or for postage in and from New Zealand. Click here to find out how to personalize the stamps.
“The stamps are a fun way for people to get into mood for the epic conclusion to The Hobbit trilogy and become one with the mighty race of Dwarves. It’s not everyday you get the chance to do that. People can choose from the group of Dwarves that make up the Company of Thorin Oakenshield: Thorin, Fili, Kili, Balin, Dwalin, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Dori, Nori, Bifur, Bofur and Bombur,” says Simon Allison, New Zealand Post’s Head of Stamps and Coins.
In addition to these, you can also look forward to an official range of stamps and legal tender coins for The Battle of the Five Armies that will go on sale starting on November 12. What is even more awesome about these two new product lines is that they will have a surprise twist! They will involve unique processes that achieves a special effect that has not been done before in New Zealand. What do you think it is? I’m hoping they’ll glow blue, or maybe it will be some cool 3D effect. Hey, you never know!
What do you think the special effect will be? Tell us in the comments section below!
