Happy Birthday, John Bell!

john bellHappy Birthday to John Bell! John, who plays Bain, Bard’s son, in The Hobbit, is 17 today!

John began his screen career when he won a competition to appear in Doctor Who in 2007 and he hasn’t looked back since. He’s moved from children’s TV shows like Tracey Beaker Returns to TV drama such as the critically acclaimed bio-pic Hattie, to blockbuster films like Wrath of the Titans and Battleship. In November he’ll be seen in schools across the UK in an anti-bullying film, Billy the Kid.

John went to the Berlin premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug where Evangeline Lilly delighted the crowds by giving him a kiss!

We’re looking forward to seeing more of John in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. For today, though, we wish him a super birthday from all of us at Middle-earth News.
