Some of you may remember when we hosted our 6 Week Middle-earth Movie Marathon a couple of years ago to prepare for the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, and starting this weekend we’re going to be bringing it back! We are inviting you to join us for six weeks as we celebrate Peter Jackson’s epic trilogies.
The team here at Middle-earth News will be live tweeting each film but if you will not be able to join us, you are free to watch the film any time during the week! Even if you won’t be able to watch the films, you can still join the event by posting photos, stories, etc. all over social media with the hashtag #6wkMMM.
The schedule is as follows:
- An Unexpected Journey: March 25–March 31
- The Desolation of Smaug: April 01–April 07
- The Battle of the Five Armies: April 08–April 14
- The Fellowship of the Ring: April 15–April 21
- The Two Towers: April 22–April 28
- The Return of the King: April 29–May 05
We are proud to say that the amazing folks at Weta have donated prizes which we will be giving away on our Twitter. The giveaways will take place during the live tweeting sessions, so be sure to follow us! The goal of this online event is to bring fans together from all corners of the world and we hope you can take part.
You can join us as we watch and live tweet The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey this Saturday, March 25 at 7pm EDT and Sunday, March 26 at 2pm EDT (adjust to your respective timezone). Watch with friends and/or family, dress up as your favorite character, make lembas or grab a bowl of walnuts, but most of all, enjoy the films! Follow the conversation with the #6wkMMM tag!
