Return of the 6 Week Middle-earth Movie Marathon!

We saw the beacons! We saw your call for aid! And Middle-earth News will answer! Muster the fandom!

While we can’t do much to help with the real crisis, we CAN help our fellow Tolkien fans pass the time while staying at home.

By popular demand, we are beginning a 6 Week Middle-earth Movie Marathon (#6wkMMM) this very weekend!

Here is how it works. We start each week with Middle-earth News team members live-tweeting a particular film, starting at a specific time. If you can, we welcome you to join us on Twitter under the hashtag #6wkMMM and share your thoughts and comments as we watch the film together! We always watch the Extended Editions of all the films, but you can watch whatever version you have or want to watch. If you can’t join us for the live tweet, don’t worry! Watch the film-of-the-week any time in the next week, and tweet with the hashtag #6wkMMM to join the conversation.

The weekly schedule is as follows:

  • 4 April – 10 April: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Author: Valdís is a classic nerd, with many geeky interests, but her life-long love of Tolkien rules them all. She was completely hooked the first time that she read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings at age 8. Since then, she has read the books at least once a year, and delves into Middle-earth at every opportunity with a fervor that would make any dwarf proud.
