Sir Ian McKellen hosted a gala dinner and charity auction last Friday to raise money for the Park Theatre, London.
The event was held at the Globe Theatre and among the celebrities was fellow Hobbit actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
Lord Jeffrey Archer was the auctioneer and the auction prizes included a copy of The Hobbit signed by all the cast.
The event raised over £100,000 towards the Park Theatre’s education floor according to Tatler.
