The Hobbit Cast At Conventions

Then check out our list of conventions coming up in the next few weeks in New Zealand, Australia, Germany and UK.

  • HobbitCon 2013 Bonn, Germany, 30 March – 1April. With events and workshops as well as a chance to meet some of the cast. Guests include Sylvester McCoy (Radagast), Mark Hadlow (Dori), John Callen (Oin), Dean O’Gorman (Fili), Adam Brown (Ori), Peter Hambleton (Gloin), Stephen Hunter (Bombur), Graham McTavish (Dwalin), James Nesbitt (Bofur) and Jed Brophy (Nori). Designers Paul Tobin and Daniel Falconer from Weta and RingCon veteran Mark Ferguson (Gil Galad in LOTR) will also be there.

 

  • Lords of Time  Auckland, NZ, April 13.  Sylvester McCoy (Radagast) at this Dr Who convention.

 

  • Supanova  Melbourne, Australia, April 12-14 and Gold Coast, Australia, April 19-21.  From The Hobbit, guests include Dean O’Gorman (Fili), Graham McTavish (Dwalin), Stephen Hunter (Bombur) and, Gold Coast only, Sylvester McCoy (Radagast). From LOTR there’s Mark Ferguson (Gil Galad). Karl Urban has had to cancel due to filming commitments but has signed up for the June expos in Sydney and Perth.

 

  • Wales Comic Con Wrexham, UK, April 28 From The Hobbit  Adam Brown (Ori), Jed Brophy (Nori);  Billy Boyd (Pippin in The Lord of the Rings) and Kiran Shah (size double in The Hobbit and LOTR).  Billy’s band, Beecake, will be playing at the aftershow party.

 

  • Armageddon Expo Wellington, NZ, June 2  Aidan Turner (Kili) and Dean O’Gorman (Fili) from The Hobbit

 

And for those of us who can’t get to any of these conventions, here’s Dean O’Gorman at Armageddon on Martin Freeman’s Kung Fu moves,  playing FIFA with Aidan Turner and Stephen Hunter and 46 takes of saying “Hi” in the Bag End door scene.
