This Middle-earth Weekend festival is on 11-12 May and you’ll find lots of activities there like archery, barrel racing, a climbing wall, competitions, crafts, drama, guided walks, music, poetry, re-enactments, storytelling and information and quizzes on Tolkien. One of the highlights is a open top bus tour of the Tolkien/Hobbit sights which includes the Two Towers and Tom Bombadil’s Old Forest. Entrance is free, although there may be a charge for some activities.
Sounds like fun? Well, if you want to get more involved with the event, then why not volunteer to help? In the past volunteers have helped with programme selling, information and bookings for activities, car park duties, helping in the activity tents, refreshments for volunteers competitions and activities.
Find out more about how to volunteer and the day itself on the Middle-earth Weekend website.
