Have you ever wondered what The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings might read like had they been written by a different author? TheOneRing.net wants you to use your imagination and find out!
The popular Tolkien fansite has just begun a new monthly contest, wherein fans are encouraged to submit versions of their favourite Tolkien passages as written by various authors. Each month will have a theme; the theme for this month is “The Hobbit as Written by Dr. Seuss.”
Writers are asked to pick a scene from The Hobbit which will be included in The Desolation of Smaug (out this December) and re-write it in the style of Dr. Seuss.
TORn is now accepting submissions for the contest, which ends at 12p.m. EST on September 23rd; submissions can be e-mailed to: rewrite_tolkien_contest@theonering.net.
