A Stained Glass Lamp Inspired By The Lord of the Rings

We always love to feature crafty projects inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s masterpiece. For example, do you remember the City of Minas Tirith built with 420,000 matchsticksthe Tolkien themed pillows, or these awesome Hobbit cards?

Stained Glass Lamp Inspired By The Lord of the Rings

Today we want to show you this incredible piece of fan art: Allegra Delgardo‘s stained glass lamp that features three different scenes from The Lord of the Rings films. The gallery below shows all the three scenes respectively from The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King (click the images to enlarge).

To create this incredible lamp, the artist previously drew the various pieces of the scenes and then cut the individual pieces of stained glass using them as a template.

“The artist used copper foil to line the edges of the glass and with a little bit of flux and tinning, painstakingly soldered them all together. She then used patina to chemically oxidize the solder and turn it black, giving the lamp that ‘old world’ look. The lettering on the bottom was etched into the glass and reads ‘One Ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them’, in both English and Black Speech.” (Source: MakeZine.com)

Which scene (or we should say ‘which side’) is your favorite?
