Stephen Fry recently gave his support to the short film industry by making a donation to the horror film makers of Bloody Cuts. Bloody Cuts is a series of 13 short films to be released online over the coming months, the latest of which, Mother Died, was released on 18 March.
Ben Franklin, who created the horror series, told BBC News Norfolk that Fry tweeted to say Have popped a little of something in your hat… keep up the good work x.
“We’re assuming that he watched the film. I’m not sure necessarily why he felt he wanted to donate – maybe he was in a very generous frame of mind at the time,” said Mr Franklin.
“I’m assuming perhaps the Norfolk connection is a very good reason for doing so, but you can only hazard a guess at why he decided to do it.”
Parts of the films are shot in King’s Lynne in the county of Norfolk. Fry, who has a home in the county, plays the Master of Laketown in The Hobbit: There and Back Again to be released in 2013.
