Harper Collins Announces ‘The Pocket Hobbit’ & More

The Hobbit films are a hot topic right now and Harper Collins has caught on early. They have just announced a 75th Anniversary Edition of The Hobbit which will be going to print later this month. To top that off, Harper Collins will also be releasing a 75th Anniversary Edition four novel boxed set of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (with a new jacket design) and a Revised Edition of The History of the Hobbit.

New books include The Art of the Hobbit, a compilation of all Tolkien’s own art gathered together and scanned at high resolution and The Pocket Hobbit, said to have Tolkien’s own art design on it’s front cover. David Brawn, HarperCollins’ estates publisher described http://www.harpercollins.com/ saying, “It looks really cute, and hobbits are little, so it’s the sort of mad idea you have as a publisher. I think it’s going to run away.”

I don’t know about you, but The Pocket Hobbit sounds like the perfect gift for a stocking stuffer. And, yes. That’s a hint to anyone out there who wants to give me a Christmas present.
