For everyone who has been waiting for the extended edition of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – you’re in for a treat! This special Extended Edition is available right now in the iTunes store.
The Extended Edition features thirteen minutes of extra film footage: it extends existing scenes as well as adding new ones. A notable new scene features young Bilbo and Gandalf. There is also additional footage in Hobbiton and Rivendell, while the opening scene is extended to feature more of Thranduil, Smaug, and Dale.

Purchasing through iTunes gives fans access to “iTunes Extras” – about nine hours of new special features. These special iTunes features include: “New Zealand: Home of Middle-earth”, “THE APPENDICES PART 7- A LONG EXPECTED JOURNEY: The Chronicles of The Hobbit”, “THE APPENDICES PART 8- RETURN TO MIDDLE-EARTH”, as well as additional bonus content.
