Middle-earth News is thrilled to bring our readers news concerning a party of special magnificence! Our good friends over at TheOneRing.net are planning a spectacular event to honour the end of our cinematic Middle-earth journey. Senior Staffer greendragon has a special message for all of you:
Greetings and salutations to all our fellow fans at Middle-earth News! Over at TheOneRing.net, as you’ll know, we have a history of throwing parties to celebrate Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth movies. With the release for the final film (sob!) in The Hobbit Trilogy, we couldn’t let these films sail into the West without one final, big celebration – and we want YOU to join us!
We are planning to hold a Party of Special Magnificence next February — a final toast to all SIX movies, both The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit trilogy: The One Last Party – There and Back Again!

This will be on Saturday 21st Feb 2015 – the day BEFORE the Oscars – at a venue in Los Angeles, TBA. There will be music, food, drink, entertainment and all kinds of fun! William Kircher’s (Bifur) band The California Dreamers are all set to come and perform, and TORn’s good friends Celtic musicians Emerald Rose will be there too, so we’ll all be able to get up on our Proud Foots (Proud FEET!) and dance the night away.
Actors Richard Armitage (Thorin), John Bell (Bain), Manu Bennett (Azog), Billy Boyd (Pippin), Jed Brophy (Nori), Adam Brown (Ori) and Graham McTavish (Dwalin) have all already said they’ll be there (schedules permitting). Billy is keen to sing for us – maybe our own live version of The Last Goodbye! And of course all cast and crew are invited.
All that is needed is YOU!
We cannot hold this event unless we raise much of the cost – i.e. sell those tickets! – in advance. So we are crowd-funding this special occasion, through advance ticket sales and other donation levels. (If we don’t sell enough tickets to meet our goal, we won’t hold the party – and no one will be out of pocket. We only receive your money IF we reach our goal and are able to hold the event – so there is no risk in buying your ticket now!)
There are lots of ways to be involved with this event; even if you won’t be able to join us in person for the party, you can still be part of the celebration of these films. We are offering some amazing crowd-funding perks and levels in return for your support; there are support levels as low as $10, through to a level at which you can buy your party ticket, and beyond to levels with exclusive collectibles, signed items and special perks as part of your pledge!

This is the last big chance to celebrate PJ’s Middle-earth together, as a Fellowship of Fans (and, we hope, some very special guests). Tickets are ONLY AVAILABLE until December 31st — so get your ticket now! Don’t miss the last boat to leave the Grey Havens — this will be a night to remember, and you can help make it happen!
